How to do it
- 1 Plant your standing foot beside the ball, pointing at the target.
- 2 Turn your passing foot out, lock the ankle.
- 3 Strike the middle of the ball with the inside arch.
- 4 Follow through towards the target.
How to practise it alone
Against a wall from 3 metres. 50 with your right, 50 with your left. 'Good' is the ball coming straight back to the same spot every time. Then move to 6 metres.
Common mistakes
- ✕Toe pointing down (that is a toe-poke).
- ✕Leaning back — the ball flies up.
- ✕Not looking at the target before you strike.
